Sick

Joshua Hoffine builds horror movie-esque sets for his photographs. Check them out. Disturbingly awesome.

so wrong it's right [http://www.alina-lebedeva.ru/]

sitting in light classes and listening to various critiques on "the right lighting" is great for learing how to make something that is proper and good... but ever think about the imperfections in a photograph that make it that much more beautiful? one of my favorite photographers is a russian woman by the name of alina lebedeva. the way she shoots, her HEART is in every piece... she has the kinds of pictures that will bring tears to your eyes, just the raw beauty, the imperfections of the models, the rooma, the lighting... well it's the imperfections in these that make them perfect... i urge everyone to view her work-- even if you don't enjoy her as much as i do, everyone can learn a little something from the way she brings forth the emotion displayed in her pictures... just.. breathtaking.
i've recently become a little obsessed with this style of photography [picture by matthew rolston if you were wondering] -- i know that this style has been popping up quite a bit lately, but obviously there's a reason for it's gain in popularity. i'm just so drawn to the depth of it, the harshness yet vibrant glamour of it all..... what do you think? annddd anybody got any tips on how to achieve this effect?

SHE ROCKS. [http://larajade.co.uk/index.html]

hokay a special thanks to mr. no pickles for finallyy helping me get this to workk [i'm blonde :( sorryy all]-- anywho, the image i've posted is a SELF-PORTRAIT of basically my idol. lara jade, based out of midlands, england, got into photography through application, starting her shooting when she was about 13-- now when i look at her work my breath is taken away, she creates the most beautiful images, each vivid in lighting and color and many creating an almost dream-like feel just due to their perfection. i'll add a link to get to her stuff, hope y'all enjoy her as much as i do :)

So I was pretty inspired by everybody's work in class last week and decided to revisit my bolts on black using one light. Here are some of the better images I shot, with minimal Lightroom adjustments. I made that last one black and white because I thought it was a cool composition but it had this nasty yellow reflection from my saw horses and I'm still learning the basics of Photoshop. Sorry, Tim.
