So I thought I might share this...

This is a sort of a test shot/ sketch for what's to become a much larger and intricate personal project very close to me that I'll be working on for quite a long time. I bounced a light (softbox) off of a garage door to create a larger light source and let it flare a bit to give some mystique. Sometimes people (read: teachers) dog on flare. I say do what feels right. Also used a speedlight through a 6x6 scrim to give a little fill in the backside.

The Back Pockets

I thought I would share this image I took on Thursday night. This image shows The Back Pockets getting down. It was an amazing show. I really respect them for their original sounds. The lights were intense and SERIOUSLY completed the show! It completed the mood of the show and music. I love the red lighting that is shinning his back.

Pinhole

At first glance, one might assume this is the aurora borealis.

It’s actually a 3-day-long exposure!

Photo: Rhys Baker

I took this shot last week and fell in love with how pretty K's eyes are. She was just the best model for this shoot. She was willing to wear anything i put her in. I desaturated the colors a bit to make her eyes POP!

New Born

So i am really in love with new born babies =) and my best friend is about 2 days from having her first baby and i am super excited. Therefore i went on blogs to research cool baby shots so when emmitt comes i can take his first pictures. I came across this shot and it was the cutest thing i have ever seen =D

Low Key Broad Lighting

I thought these are cool examples of low key, broad lighting.

inside (outside) light.

I'm a blog junky and discovered this on someone's. They didn't have a credit line so im not sure who to congratulate on taking such a wonderful photo. I love how the like is coming out of the middle of clouds and the edge of bright colours.

Egg Hats

I came across this picture while online shopping on Etsy. I thought it was a cute idea plus I love how simple the photo is with nice lighting coming in from the side.

YUMMM

So, I'm really interested in food photography - I would love to be able to make food look so awesome and still good enough to eat! That is a pretty hard task though. So, when I came across this picture on http://prettyfoods.tumblr.com/post/1571071539 I immediately wanted to eat it so I thought it was a good example of food photography done well.

Wall Circles

A few weekends ago I went to Athens to take pictures of downtown. As I was walking around I came across this reflection on the wall and had to take a picture - It was so interesting and crazy because I couldn't find where it was coming from! I just love the circles all in a row.
I took this shot last week after a LONG day of class. I was on my way home from school and was amazed at how pretty sunset was and had to capture and share with you guyz. So i went on my roof top and captured away.
This shot was taken a sun down. THe sky was Perfect. I loved the color in the sky and so i decided to do a covered shot of me. What can i say I am into sundown and amazing skys =)

Taken @ Flip Burger Thursday afternoon. Eating lunch with Tiffany, Jaimie & Kala & discovered all the fancy features (exposure, colour effects, focus mode, white balance, i.e.) on my Droid.

Thought i'd snap a couple with the light looking so hazy coming through the glasses of water onto those delicious onion rings.

Reminder, we will meet at school for in-class shooting and demo tonight.

Location:Tonight

This weekend, I went to Cartersville to take some senior portraits of my cousin.  I ended up having a good time and getting some gorgeous shots.  We were leaving Marietta Square because we were finished shooting there, and as we were walking by Cool Beans, the sun was right behind the trees, which were already a beautiful golden yellow, and the sun illuminated them perfectly.  That glowing, golden yellow and the clear blue sky was just a gorgeous combination.

Beauty of Rome

So I read this blog called A Cup of Joe by Joanna Goddard and she always has the most beautiful pictures of her friends weddings and events and such and while I was browsing the blog I was looking in previous posts and found her and her husband's honeymoon pictures. They went to Rome and Greece and her pictures were just so pretty and the light was beautiful so I wanted to post them - they make me want to be there!

photo taken for colour theory. i really loved the sun peaking over the colour (paint-chip card).

Richard Avedon

Hi everyone! I ran across this guy, Richard Avedon, and quickly fell in love with his work. He has such a unique style and his concepts are totally off the wall. It's like nothing you have ever seen before and cannot be mistaken for anyone else. :)! He does an amazing job at using color and light to work for his photographs. What was even more intriguing to me was the fact that even in his black and white photography, all the images stand out. The pictures still draw your eye into the photograph and keep you looking. My favorite out of his work was his portraits and fashion. Here are just a few images I enjoyed. Let me know what you guys think!
