I took this photo, because of the sun coming up over the trees and hitting the telephone pole and lines. I found it interesting, because a telephone pole is an everyday object and the light completely changes things.

You thought you were ambitious?
Ran across this page, which of course reminded me of the assignment we've been working on. Here is a guy who takes photos of water in motion. Short shutter speed + ample lighting + ninja skills = the work of Shinichi Maruyama. Amazing.

Are Bernard
I ran into this photographer on this magazine my friend posted. The interview amazed me. I love how he said he was both inspired by traditional and digital, but that honestly he hates digital. He felt as if film has more feeling and it being more pure. I thought it was really interesting how I have used the exact same words when I talk about digital v.s. film and his style is something close to what I could see myself personally shooting. I love his taste in color, lighting, and subjects. P.s. He's local.

Raymond Meier
Beautiful stuff. Meier sculpts angles and shape onto her face and body with the subtlest of shadows. Using the clear plastic sheet across the model makes some really interesting and intricate shadows/reflections. Very sheen and crisp, almost metallic. I also recommend a look at his cosmetic product portfolio for some fun shots.Daniel Sannwald

Dramatic and Provocative
I'm a big fan of dramatic lighting and am very drawn to Bela Borsodi's light strips cast over her subjects. Simple yet sleek, intimate and provocative. Very flat and hard light that's sculpted then allowed to fall off naturally. Quite different from her usual super soft product shots. I've also tacked on some crazy light paintings she's done of nude women; a different kind of provocative. How she's created her lines across and around the figures allows the eye to follow in and out of not only the light's curves, but also those of the figure.

White on White
I thought this was a cute inspiration for the white on white assignment! (Even though there is a black background behind the white one - you get the idea...ha) I found it here.
Spring Dessert
So, this weather has been so dreary and not making me happy, so when I saw these photos by Elizabeth Messina for Santa Barbara Magazine I had to post them. They are just so springy and pretty and they made me happy so I thought it might brighten everyone's day - and make you hungry :)

dramatic lighting
spot light
I am very into shooting couples. Therefore, I naturally gravitated towards this shot. The lighting is perfect and it creates a specific mood that I absolutely love. This shot was taken by miller+miller photography. here is the web sight. http://www.chicagoillinoisweddingphotography.com/tag/hoffman-estates/
