The Sartorialist

The Sartorialist is a blog I like to check in on from time to time. It's about fashion, really, but it's still a series of portraits. A lot of the shots he takes are on the street, using natural lighting, but sometimes that's all you need.

Lightmark

I love the work done by Cenci Goepel and Jens Warnecke in their Lightmark series. They're using LED lights to paint on landscapes, which are also gorgeous.

Maren Celest

A reel of damaged feel.

DarkGomo

I just love how the lights are coming through from all places.

We work because it's fun!

Creative Circus image dept. student Christian Torres shot footage and edited a recent video short for me of a location photo shoot. Check it!

Pencil Vs. Camera

While on Flickr, I cam across this guy Ben Heine. He has collections of photos objects, people, landscapes, etc. What interested me the most was a collection called Pencil Vs. Camera. He takes photos and then includes a sketch that he draws to become part of what's going on in the picture. I think they are pretty cool and here are some of my favorites!

Bruce Percy

I came across Bruce Percy's website the other day and am kind of obsessed with it. He travels all around the world and photographs people and places - I am particularly into his landscapes though. I think they are just awesome because the places seem so remote and peaceful with such vibrant colors (He took all of these in the early morning). I just think they are so pretty - here are some of my favorites!

Urchin Rock! Too cute not to post!

The link above will take you to the Urchin Rock website! Check it out!

Alright.... I stumbled across this photographer as well and the cute little baby reminds me of the Nirvana (I think?!?) album cover

Urchin Rock specializes in professional underwater photography for babies and families. The work that they produce is so different yet so simple and beautiful to me! Who would have thought to photograph portraits underwater!?!?! Im ready to get my scuba diving permit so I can try this technique out!! LOVE IT!!

Oh these pictures make me laugh and make my heart melt! So cute!

Mitchell Feinberg = AWESOMENESS!!!

The link above will take you to his website.

Mitchell Feinberg is a commercial photographer whoe specializes in shooting luxury still lifes and is a genius when it comes to lighting! He is able to photograph products, accessories, food, and pretty much anything else in a way that I have never seen before. His creative way of thinking and out of the ordinary photographs inspire me to become a better still life photographer. he is freakin awesome at what he can do with his camera!

I added a lot of pictures because they inspire me so much! Everyone needs to check out his website!! His work is mind blowing!

For all the DIY people!!

The link above will show you how to build a photography light stand!!!! I have never built this before but I am all for using clamp lights1

Parking Deck

Taken with my cell so the image isn't the best quality, I stumbled across this mixed lighting scenario while leaving an underground parking garage. The dividing wall in the center gave a fun sense of geometry to the image and sculpted the light as it passed through. Parking decks and garages make surprisingly nifty places to shoot; soft low light often mixed with multiple other sources for some rather interesting shadows.

ZOO

I recently visited the Atlanta ZOO for the first time and I had a blast (even though it rained all day =( )
What was cool was that i was there early in the morning and one of their only visitors at the time so the elephant trainer got the elephant to do some tricks for me. I got some amazing shots and thought i would share

Raw Fashion

I LOVE fashion photography. As i was researching it i came across Brian Walkers work. I was very interesting in that he came across fashion in a whole different way than normal. He chose one topic or subject and took it to an extremely different level than normal. So i thought i would share. his website is www.lickthesun.com go check it out
