I tried to approach the shooting of these apples like I was shooting a portrait. I tried reflecting the light from the sun to add some dimension to them. The rotted part of the second apple was used to give a depth to that apple and I put the other in a vise because I liked the details of the metal. In Lightroom, I pushed up the contrast on both shots due to the brightness of the sun that made the images a lot more flat that they appeared to the eye.
